What Makes Arbitrum Different?

Some of the key advantages of using Arbitrum

Lightning-Fast Transaction Speed

Arbitrum significantly improves the speed of transactions on the Ethereum blockchain through its Layer 2 scaling solution. By utilizing Optimistic Rollups, it performs transactions off the main network and verifies them in batches, ensuring quicker transactions.

Low Transaction Fees

One of the standout features of Arbitrum is its ability to drastically reduce transaction fees. While transactions on the Ethereum network can cost a few dollars, Arbitrum's innovative technology lowers these fees to just a couple of cents, making it a cost-effective choice for users.

Scalability

Arbitrum enhances the scalability of the Ethereum blockchain by increasing its transaction capacity. This is achieved by processing transactions off-chain and then publishing a proof of validity to the Ethereum main chain, allowing for a high degree of scalability without compromising on security.

Compatibility with Ethereum

Arbitrum is designed to work in conjunction with the Ethereum main chain, allowing users to run smart contracts on the Ethereum network with less congestion and more privacy. This compatibility ensures that users can leverage the advanced features of Arbitrum while still enjoying the robustness and security of the Ethereum network.

The Ultimate Layer 2 Scaling Solution

Arbitrum, a Layer 2 scaling solution, augments the Ethereum blockchain's capacity by handling transactions off the main network, thus accelerating transaction speeds and drastically reducing gas fees. It operates on a distinctive technology known as Optimistic Rollups, where transactions are processed off-chain and then verified in batches before being committed back to the Ethereum main chain. This ingenious mechanism significantly alleviates congestion and enhances scalability, all while ensuring a high degree of security and data integrity.

Arbitrum Rollup

Venture into the realm of Arbitrum Rollups on Monitok and experience a leap in transaction efficiency. This technology rolls up multiple transactions into a single one, streamlining the verification process. With Optimistic Rollups at its core, Arbitrum assumes the validity of transactions, thereby expediting the process. However, in case of discrepancies, there's a dispute resolution mechanism in place, ensuring that the integrity of transactions remains unscathed.

The rollups are settled on a proprietary sidechain, which is essentially a blockchain connected to the main Ethereum chain. After the transactions are settled on this sidechain, the data is relayed back to the Ethereum blockchain, thus maintaining a seamless flow of information and ensuring the accuracy and security of transaction data. This framework not only speeds up transaction processing but also significantly cuts down the associated costs, making your trading endeavors on Monitok more economical and swift.

Frequently asked questions

Should you still have questions about our platforms, look no further

Usually, when moving funds (either ETH or non-ETH) from Ethereum (L1) to Arbitrum (L2), it’s necessary to have ETH in your wallet on the corresponding Arbitrum chain. This is because ETH is the currency used for gas fees on Arbitrum, and all Arbitrum transactions are powered by ETH. However, Monitok uses an account abstracted wallet, which simplifies gas fee payments. To do a transaction on Monitok, all you need is USDC, which is the main coin on the platform, regardless of the network or type of transaction.

The gas fees on Arbitrum are significantly lower than on the Ethereum mainnet due to its Layer 2 scaling solution. The estimated cost for Arbitrum gas fees starts at 0.1 GWEI on Arbitrum One and can increase depending on the demand for network resources. When converted to U.S. Dollars, 1 GWEI is $0.0338. According to transaction data the average gas fee price on Arbitrum is $0.30.
Arbitrum One is the mainnet beta of Arbitrum, offering a highly scalable and efficient platform for decentralized applications (dApps). It utilizes unique Layer 2 scaling solutions to enhance Ethereum’s performance, reducing gas fees and increasing transaction speed.
  • Using reputable and secure wallets.
  • Enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) where possible.
  • Keeping your private keys and seed phrases secure and offline.
  • Regularly updating wallet software to the latest versions.
  • Avoiding sharing sensitive information online or with unknown parties.
No priority fee is necessary for Arbitrum transactions since they are processed in the order the Sequencer receives them. If a transaction does include a priority fee, it will be refunded to the transaction’s origin address at the end of the execution.
To conduct a transaction on Monitok, all you need is USDC, the platform’s native coin, regardless of the network, coin, or transactions you’re engaging with. To access your USDC, essential for covering transaction costs, simply navigate to the Monitok app, tap ‘Wallet’, and find USDC listed alongside your other coins.
If the receiving wallet/exchange does not support the Arbitrum network you are sending funds through, unfortunately, there’s nothing that can be done to recover your funds from the Arbitrum side. You would need to contact the wallet/exchange support for assistance.
Arbitrum does not have a mempool. Instead, the Arbitrum Sequencer orders transactions on a first-come, first-served basis, inserting them into a queue based on the order they are received, and executing them accordingly. Under normal conditions, the queue is empty since transactions are executed near-instantaneously.
Arbitrum Rollup is an Optimistic Rollup protocol that is trustless and permissionless, requiring all chain data to be posted on layer 1. On the other hand, Arbitrum AnyTrust introduces a trust assumption in exchange for lower fees, with data availability managed by a Data Availability Committee (DAC).

You can check the status of any Arbitrum cross-chain message at the retryable dashboard (https://retryable-dashboard.arbitrum.io/). You’ll need the transaction hash of the “initiating transaction” to check the status.

No, once an Arbitrum transaction is included on L1, there is no way it can be reorged unless the L1 itself reorgs. A “dispute” involves Validators disagreeing over execution, but the inputs can’t be disputed as they are determined by the Inbox on L1.
An Arbitrum Wallet is a type of cryptocurrency wallet that supports the Arbitrum Layer 2 Optimistic Rollup, which is built to empower Ethereum with scalability. You can create an Arbitrum Wallet on various platforms, including Monitok.
Arbitrum enhances the capabilities of Ethereum by providing high-performance smart contracts and lower fees compared to the Ethereum mainnet. It utilizes a unique Layer 2 architecture that leverages off-chain computation and state transitions to address Ethereum’s scalability challenges.
